One of the good things to come out of the covid panic and related fallout was the increased tendency among thinking people to question 'experts' and other illegitimate authorities. Hopefully that will continue and carry over to the issue of education.

Agreed. I also think that time period helped to undermine, even slightly, the notion that a college diploma confers expertise, which is obviously nonsense. I hope that trend will be another that will continue and grow, especially if young people can develop true expertise in their learning prior to age 18 and thus reinforce the superfluousness of college for many people (at least in its current form). After all, if a young person can start a successful business by age 18, why would we think that person needs four years of college, much of which is simply bloat to keep professors in niche areas employed?
